Trump v. O’Rourke in El Paso Tonight

The Texas Tribune reports former congressman and potential Democratic presidential contender Beto O’Rourke will lead a march through his hometown Texas border city this evening and speak at a “Celebration of El Paso” event at 7 p.m., as President Donald Trump holds a rally in support of a 2,000 mile U.S.-Mexican border wall. O’Rourke joins County Sheriff and former El Paso Police Chief Richard Wiles, along with Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, in denouncing Trump’s State of the Union claims that El Paso had extremely high rates of violent crime before a 2012 border fence was erected.
