TX House Passes Medical Cannabis Bill

The Texas House advanced a bill Monday that would expand the list of debilitating conditions Texans can legally treat using medical cannabis. The Texas Tribune reports House Bill 1365 would add Alzheimer’s, Crohn’s, muscular dystrophy, PTSD, autism and many other illnesses to a state program that currently applies only to people with intractable epilepsy. The bill would also increase the number of dispensaries from 3 to 12. The Texas Department of Public Safety can authorize growing and distributing the product and the implementation of cannabis testing facilities to analyze the safety and potency of medical cannabis.
