Texas Gov. Greg Abott has declared a state of emergency for 31 Texas counties, including Erath, due to severe flooding.
Other counties in the declaration include Austin, Bandera, Bastrop, Coleman, Hood, Jasper, Palo Pinto, Parker and Montgomery.
Meanwhile, Erath County Judge Tab Thompson is reminding folks to be patient as county crews work to repair damage caused by recent flash flooding.
The judge spoke during another round of storms Thursday.
He said that roads are terrible all over the county, and every new rain event prolongs the effort to get out and make repairs.
Several roads and bridges throughout the county are closed right now, and they’re addressing the most dangerous and serious road conditions first.
Thompson is also reminding drivers not to drive around barricades– they’re there for a reason.
